About The 91 Yards Club
With the objective to bring all cricketers, technical personnel, office bearers, present and past of Assam as well as all sports enthusiasts and socially active persons under one roof, 91 Yards Club has been established on 21 September 2022. The club, inaugurated by its founder President, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Honorable Chief Minister of Assam provide a common platform to involve all stakeholders to work for a better society through sports, culture and other allied activities.
The idea of the club was first mooted by the first Apex Council of the Assam Cricket Association, in one of its General Body meeting on 10th April 2020 at Dibrugarh, and with unanimous support from members present therein, it was resolved to establish the club at ACA Stadium Barsapara, Guwahati at the earliest.
The construction of the club was started with the laying of the Foundation Stone by Shri Romen Dutta, the then President of Assam Cricket Association in the presence of Shri Devajit Saikia, the then Secretary of Assam Cricket Association.

After a lot of deliberations at various levels, the executive committee of the club was formed on the 30th of June 2022 with the following members-

Activities
- 01. To promote, encourage and improve all outdoor and indoor games, sports and healthy pastimes.
- 02. To lay out, manage, equip and maintain ground, thereby facilitating playing of games, sports and pastimes, to provide stadium, playing fields, pavilions, refreshment rooms and other conveniences thereof and with a view thereto to purchase, lease or otherwise acquire land at such price or rent or for such period and upon such terms and conditions as may be deemed suitable and expedient to the interest of the club.
- 03. To run and promote football academy, martial arts academy and stadium any other sports activities except cricket as may be deem necessary by the Executive Committee of the Club.
- 04. To promote culture, human resource development programme, more particularly, amongst children and youths.
- 05. To induce competitiveness amongst players/clubs/corporate houses/organisations/sport units in order to generate employment opportunities for players.
